Other Important Animal Organizations in
NH:
-
American Kennel
Club
For a list of Purebred Dog Rescue Leagues,
Click on "Clubs" at the list on top. They can not list all organizations,
so only the head of each Purebred Rescue League is listed. Contact these
people for the Purebred Rescue closest to you, many are located in
New Hampshire.
These purebred leagues are "run" by volunteers who love a particular breed
of dog. These dogs are fostered in homes. The foster homes get to know
these dogs and can usually tell new prospective owners the dogs personality,
if they are good with children, other animals, etc. If you are considering
a particular breed, these rescue leagues can also tell you the specific
traits of the breeds and help to match the best dog to your family.
Remember that animals that are given up are usually not for behavior
reasons. Most animals are given up because people are moving to a place
where the animals can not go, the family has developed allergies, etc.
